School years 2007-2009

At the beginning of the school year 2007/2008 we have found a school in Slovakia

willing to cooperate with us. The partnership between our school and another in Europe provides a great occasion to improve students´ language skills and use developed communication technologies. Students chose the topics for their projects, discussed the aims and arranged the methods of the research. Mainly, they are to focus on translatation and usage of English in doing the project. On our side, the whole project is prepared and supervised by Katarzyna Pechmann, a teacher of English. Therefore, a partnership between us and the students from the school in Hurbanovo, Slovakia, has started. Students are to exchange emails to get to know each other, talk about their duties at school, their hobbies and favourites. There is a chance to make new penfriends, who should cooperate on common tasks. Later, the partners will gain the picture of the sub-projects in the process of doing it all, will add some ideas or send fair comments on the work done and the data collected. The members of the penpal club were divided into six groups according to the topics of sub-projects. The project title was arranged: Historical styles in the architecture of the Žitný ostrov in Slovakia as well as Brodnica and the region in Poland. Students should prepare general and historical descriptions of features of famous landmarks in particular region and perform their projects in English. Our partner school’s website of the project you may find at:
